>> I was able to make some serious money (for a change) by investing in Magainen on the basis of the daily interest in MAGN on Thompson I-Watch. <<

Very, very good. Always nice to hear about "serious money" being pulled out of biotech investing.

>> I gather from some comments that you have made on SI that you are not as enthusiastic about genomics as some investors seem to be. <<

I'm super enthusiastic. But, you're correct that I think some of the stocks are ahead of themselves. Valuations are way out of whack in the sector. On a relative basis, there are lots of screaming buys out there, and stocks (differentiated from "companies") like CRGN and GLGC just made the "relative" obscene.

>> I also never made any money from AFFX <<

Me neither. Not a dime. Sigh. Did OK with Affymax, however, the precursor of the precursor.

>> I don't know if you remember me <<

I remember most or all of the biofreaks from the old m.i.s days. 1995...... what a year..... the opening bell for what's evolving now. Took a few punches to the head in '96-'98.

>> ABSC after one of Eric Lander's postdocs pointed me in their direction last February when they were about 4 or 5 dollars a share. <<

Nice pointer to have! That was when I was wondering if they were dead. Shortly thereafter, Vector1, the brain sink behind VDXX, started pounding the table. I didn't have either (1) a clear picture, or (2) Lander's pointer.

:-(

Good to hear from you!

Obligatory MLNM-related commentary (yes, this is really stretching)........
