You can and you must. If you had ever been in the military this is one of the fundamental rules. Maybe YOU cannot separate the man from the office- but this type of attitude will certainly limit you professionally. I think Clinton as a man is vile. But I still respect the office of the Presidency. If I was in the military I would still salute the Commander in Chief (as I would be obligated to do). You would end up court- martialled, and I must admit that idea tickles my fancy.
