~OT~...The Amazon Results...FYI...

<<The company posted a pro forma operating loss of $185 million, or 55 cents a share, compared to with a net loss of $22 million, or 7 cents a share. Wall Street expected Amazon to lose 48 cents a share. But many analysts braced for losses to widen by as much as 58 cents.>>

I can't imagine why AMZN traded up today. This company gets away with so much. Wow, firms like DELL actually have to make more and more profits each quarter <VBG>. Amazon seems to be a master at prolonging the time before they hit profitability. Kleiner Perkins is behind Amazon but they are also behind good old Healtheon -- HLTH is no closer to making a profit than AMZN is. Yet, it sure doesn't bother the partners at Kleiner (they have made hundreds of millions off of these investments). Remember, this early stage VC firm gets most of its options on shares at well under $5/share. They will never get hurt. Individual investors will, IMO.

Best Regards,

Scott
