Carpe, I am looking for relief rally despite what the Fed may do. . . and I am further betting on their light hand in dealing with interest rates. . . .I could see Greenspan making 3 or 4 quarter point moves, but I don't see him making 1/2 point moves, because he realizes that the consequences could be far more severe. What I am seeing is short covering leading up to Fed announcement. . . not many buyers, but even fewer sellers. Those that bought in over past few weeks. . .are either still holding or waiting for the announcement to be over. . .this is contributing to the lower volume. . .[volume is right where I expected it to be and not at dangerous levels by any means]. . . Those that have been on the sidelines through January have been very slowly cherry picking the leaders moving forward. . . You don't need to ask what I am doing. . . .my boats are fully loaded with the stocks I feel will make the sharpest percentage gains. . . .which were many of the same names that led the losers boards over the past week. I have fewer speculative issues and small caps than before, which is a very aggressive stance. . . [Newbies: small caps are often safer than large caps when the market takes major swings]. . .and am already seeing nice gains. . . but am expecting terrific ones. . . I expect to see an all-time high equity value by Friday. . . Those reaching all-time highs in their portfolios should sound off as they hit them. No profit often warnings expected this week. . .
