As you very well know, there are indeed many, many variables in chipset performance. But the reason why I don't think PC133 will help Athlon is the same reason why I don't think PC133 will help Pentium III all that much, either. In a nutshell, PC133 is only an evolutionary step up from PC100. You're not going to see much of a difference until Athlon reaches 1.0 or 1.2 GHz or so.

(A similar thing occurred with the move from PC66 to PC100. It was shown that the move made little to no difference at the time. But then again, 400 MHz processors were considered top-of-the-line back then. Now, with even low-end processors at 500 MHz and above, the difference between PC66 and PC100 is much more noticeable.)
