I disagree. CREE controls the mfg. process to SiC. If manufactures cannot get SiC in quantities large enough to mass produce products they are less inclined to design products with SiC in mind. Even if it is a better and cheaper material to use for many applications.

This problem should abate as CREE ramps up production and/or other companies license CREE's patented production methods and produce SiC themselves. Until that happens I believe SiC's tornado development is being restrained by "capacity constraint" at this point in time.
