The obsession with the National Debt is merely a distraction from the real issue - spending ( another reason to dislike McPain). Truth be told, the deficits of the 80's and 90's have been a blessing. It's the only thing that has restrained the growth of spending in the past 60 years.

It appears that Bush JR. found out that people aren't as stupid as he thought (or was).
Anyone from these parts knows that a big tax cut would finally cause the inflation end to our big, money infested, party. Jr. and a few of his old supply siders are the only ones left who think that there is an advantage to trillions of dollars of debt. I heard his speech in N.H. He apparently has still not visited the clue's closet.
