BTW, although I don't think Duisenberg is a bad banker, he's not unwilling to print money either: in the 70s, as minister of finance, he was co-responsible for the ballooning of the budget deficit and national debt of the NL. In the 80s, as president of the Dutch CB he's been urging politicians to reduce the deficit he himself helped to create in the first place. Looks like he's now back to his first passion again...
