I believe the amount was $10mm not $436mm

Afraid not, Steve. I've come across their name in the recent past, not sure where, but it's not exactly a household term in my circles. Leastwise, not yet.

Late edit: It may have actually been right here in SI that I came across Tanning's name. There is a thread devoted to them at:

Although the last entry on that thread was in July of 99.
