Book recommendation.

The Age of Spiritual Machines-by Ray Kurzweil

I am halfway through, it is just a fantastic read. An amazing, mind expanding look into the future.

Re: childhood memories for the porch

...I think of my Minnesota grandmother baking these white bread rolls. They smelled like heaven. That, and her sheets drying on the clothesline-you'd bury your face in them, they smelled so fresh...in Northern California where I grew up, teetering barefoot through 'puncherbine' patches to get to the almond orchard, then climbing the trees and eating the sweet green almonds...and once, in high winds, running as fast as I could through a grassy field, the wind at my back, wearing a nylon windbreaker and holding it open like a sail--- I swear I flew!
(Voltaire, that was good for my soul..thanks for asking!)
