I was at my local Costco (Tustin, CA), and they had a Compaq Athlon 750Mhz system for $2399. The fastest Intel product they had on display with a Celeron 533Mhz.

Salomon Smith Barney didn't suggest 12.5 million spry Athy's in Y2000 without a fairly detailed probing of vendors out there...I suspect they were well aware of Intel's PWeeIII plight! What a reversal for GTW from zero supplyy to double supply in one quarter...Probably time to pick upo some GTW!
