I was at my local Costco (Tustin, CA), and they had a Compaq Athlon 750Mhz system for $2399. The fastest Intel product they had on display with a Celeron 533Mhz.

Hi survivin:

Re: "Gateway doubles their orders."

It's only just begun!

Salomon Smith Barney didn't suggest 12.5 million spry Athy's in Y2000 without a fairly detailed probing of vendors out there...I suspect they were well aware of Intel's PWeeIII plight!

What a reversal for GTW from zero supplyy to double supply in one quarter...Probably time to pick upo some GTW!

Survivin'...
RE:"Gateway doubles their orders."

What's the difference between Gateway doubling their orders with AMD and Gateway doubling their orders with Intel?....

Jim

According to jc, the gtwy/amd alliance has been a tremendous initial success. Dell can't be far behind, can they?

jc-news.com;

survivin, I am glad to see that AMD is doing its part to help take the pressure off of Intel and it's shortages.

You know when push comes to shove, one can always find more ways to help someone in need.......and I guess that's what AMD has done.

Good link!
