The ipo is set to price next month. >>> Compaq up just fractionally today, despite positive analyst comments and an upgrade at hambrecht and quist. Investors showed little reaction to compaq's plan to turn around its unprofitable corporate pc business. The division has taken its toll on compaq's stock price over the past year. Its shares down more than 42%. At a meeting with analysts on friday, ceo michael capellas said he now expects direct sales at its corporate pc unit to grow to 40% of total sales by the fourth quarter, that's up from 9% currently. Earlier i spoke with michael capellas and began by asking him if that wasn't rather ambitious. >>> A better than expected it is but the market has clearly spoken particularly with our direct accounts that this is the way a they want to purchase from us, going to step it up and get it done. There are calm of things working in our favor, one we have had fairly significant success goring up our programs over the past couple of months but we have also made the intercom assets that allows us to jump directly into the business of the united states. >> Do we need to add anything else. >> In the u.S. The ger come capacity get us where we .....

business pc gition to show a profit. >> What we're targeting for we have made some strides and stepping up improving profitability a cull quarters in a row we have to be realistic where we're at. We're targeting the second half to trurn pc business to profitability. >> Second half. I wonder if you can comment there has been fair amount of speculation you're a takeover target. One name that comes up frequently is hp. Can you comment in any way? >> Actually, no, i can't. Certainly, one reads all the things that are out in the press, but we're just going after the business of getting our business healthy we have a lot of momentum last couple of quarters i feel particularly strong about the momentum in our enterprise. We're just going about the plan we have laid out, making good progress. >> Thank you for bringing us up to the date on this plan, michael capellas compaq. Ed. >> Stocks had a terrible 99 but analysts now expect a rebound from what they're calling a overly sold group of stocks. >>> Coming up, the huge rally in oil prices shows little sign of slowing down. >>
