Cap'n...I like selling puts (at the right time on the right stocks), but it is not a solution to a margin call, as selling puts actually increases the amount of equity you need in the account (even though they are giving you money for the puts)....so if you had a margin call and you sold some puts to raise some cash, you would actually end up with a larger margin call....
