David

I am considering shorting QQQ. I've never shorted before and am interested in comments

Not enough information here. As a full hedge, a partial hedge against long holdings? Or as an outright short with speculative gain and not hedging as a primary motivation?

David, re: "I am considering shorting QQQ. I've never shorted before and am interested in comments.

I reckon anything above 185 is reasonable. Comments?"

My order is in for 191, FWIW. It would be an outright short, but only a very small percent of my portfolio. A higher qqq would get me to consider increasing the position.

I've seen better shorts. Looks like it's still on an uptrend to me, BWDIK?

I've never shorted before and I think Brinker's comments about the inmates running the Nasdaq asylum are appropriate here. I wouldn't even think of shorting QQQ, now or anytime soon.

One can either get on the train or stay back in the station. But it's not advisable to lay down on the tracks!
