EDS operating margins closing in on 10%-
EDS reported a 9.7% operating margin for the last quarter up from 8.9%, SG&A is down in spite of heavy advertising expense, and the analysts are pleased at the results and what they heard on the conference call. The EDS CFO Jim Daly stated he is "comfortable" with first call eps estimates of $.47 for the next quarter and $2.25 for the year (an "18% increase" over 1999). There was another restructuring write off - but this was declared as "final" by Jim Daly and CEO Dick Brown who had to speculate that "one of the cats got out of the bag" when EDS unintentionally released the earnings report before the market closed.
