I spoke to a few people at the mining convention in Vancouver this past week. An increasingly positive mood could be detected. For the first time in about 18 months, individuals were actively soliciting ventures (they had cash). They are very selective, and very frugal, but it beats the scene from the previous year's conventions.

Palladium plays and diamonds took the stage as the commodities of choice, but VMS and gold projects saw some mention. The quality of what's available has improved substantially, and the remaining players have fairly realistic desires.

I had one NWT diamond project presented that had some nice looking till samples, intriguing geophysical targets, and good neighbours (diamondiferous kimberlites). The vendor said originally he had wanted a lot, but was now resigned that the best offer (lunch at McDonalds) might be the only offer.

See you at the PDAC...over 1 billion McDeposits served.

Dave

Subj: BULLETIN !!! GOLD OPENS $14 HIGHER IN ASIA
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil it looks like another chance for the gold price to help us.
If it stays up, then hopefully those in Mongolia can Walk that Talk
and get with Dave Webb so that Bumbat can be reopened.
I'm still interested in a possible agreement where TDC supplies the
know how in people and methods to get the mine producing gold under
a set of conditions that Mongolia will after a period of time own Bumbat profit's completely.
I say this is possible if TDC can obtain cash or a credit line with an Mongolian bank,
maybe the one involved with MAC, so that Dave Webb can now use that
money to expand TDC into other areas in Canada. End result being that past
MGR to TDC shareholders leave Mongolia, and Mongolia being very low
in cash but rich in resources can medium term and then long term own Bumbat
as its own source of money to help its citizens without foreigners having
a sizeable claim to its profits from Bambat. Just now need someway for the
bank in Mongolia to allow Dave Webb to purchase Canadian resources at
the current low prices that will soon increase rapidely if price of gold does
indeed continue upwards. Time is short, Mongolia still has this initial period
where no one really knows what gold will do in a month.
