unclewest, Rickus123 and I are preparing a report on ARM Holdings for Project Hunt, which we hope to have finished in the next week. It does look like ARM is in an enviable position in the cellphone ASIC market. Their core is in, among other things, Qualcomm's ASICs. The latest stats I've seen are that their designs are in about 70% of digital cell phones.

i consider motorola and texas instr as big league competition..or are they?

Texas Instruments is an ARM licensee. ARM doesn't make the cores themselves - they license out to others. TI may be a competitor in some niches, but in cellphone ASIC's, they're in ARM's value chain.

Bluetooth -- Value Line Writeup -- Leading Small Cap Company

Valueline -- about an hour ago released their February 4th report. There is a 2-page focus on Bluetooth, the consortium of over 1,300 electronic and telecommunication companies. The article goes through and discusses the technology, key companies, etc.

They mention a company called Extended Systems, which is a small cap company, which they say currently appears to have an early lead in protocol software for connecting devices and mentions partnerships with Ericsson and Microsoft. Symbol is XTND.

They say it appears to have an early lead in bringing Bluetooth products to market, and that it was named a finalist for "Best of Comdex."

Can anyone here shed any light on XTND?
