Thread: the Q-ERICY release as reported by Bloomberg was riveting for the inclusion of this language [boldface emphasis is mine]:
San Diego, Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Qualcomm Inc. and Ericsson AB agreed to jointly develop and market wireless technology designed to set a worldwide standard for wireless communication with electronic devices ranging from mobile phones to computers....

There are other references to worldwide standards in the release. I decided to see if and how Ericsson reported this significant development, at

ericsson.com

Notice the subtle differences in the snips below (what a fascinating stage of the political end-game we are entering):

QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies and Ericsson Microelectronics today announced an agreement to jointly develop and market the world's first wireless technology solution, supporting both the Bluetooth standard and the CDMA
digital wireless standard, for the mobile handset and mobile device manufacturing companies.
Under this agreement, Ericsson Microelectronics will develop a Bluetooth-compatible radio unit and QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies will develop the Bluetooth digital baseband processing to be integrated into its future
Mobile Station Modem (MSM ) chipset and software solutions. The companies will work together to optimize the RF and digital designs for operation within a CDMA handset environment to create the most complete and high-
performance solution available for CDMA based wireless data applications
....
"QUALCOMM's expertise in providing tightly integrated
CDMA technology solutions makes them a perfect partner to realize the full
promise of Bluetooth for existing and future wireless markets."
[That's good.]....
