Neat cable modem/multi PC solution: what do you guys think?

computers4sure.com

This looks like it will give a 4-port switch AND security protection AND cable modem/DSL modem routing. If it works as advertised, we'll be able to use machines from anywhere in the house without having to worry about what addresses are assigned to them...US West DSL was able to do this (though they didn't officially support it), but not the cable modem folks.

Thoughts welcome.

Anyone else try a similar (or different) route from Dan's? All thoughts welcome.

What I have seen many people recommend is instead of installing a lot of CAT 5 cable initially is to instead install 3 or 3 1/2 inch PVC conduit running from each room to the basement. Then you could pull your own cables at a latter date. They recommend the largest size PVC conduit you can put in your wall. Most of then envision using the conduit for CAT 5 telephone cable, CAT 5 data communications cable and RG6 coaxial cable for TV.
