Korea Thrunet To Set Up $3M JV Co With Nissi Media

SEOUL (Dow Jones)--Korea Thrunet Co. (KOREA, news, msgs) said Wednesday it plans to set up a $3 million joint venture company in the U.S. with Nissi Media Inc. by the end of January to provide united messaging services and free phone services in Korea, the U.S. and Canada.

The venture will begin its services which include free phone, electronic-mail, voice mail and fax services starting March, Korea Thrunet said.

The South Korean high-speed Internet service provider has already been providing the services in Korea. But, with the establishment of the venture, it will expand its services to other countries, it said.
