"I also think that EMC would want to scale more quickly than anybody else, once again putting Ancor in the driver's seat. The biggest negative is their ownership of McData."

I'd like to understand why some think Ancor could win EMC's business over EMC. Their ownership of McDATA would seem to preclude that. McDATA already ships an enterprise-class FC switch with 32 ports. It is based on their ESCON director, for those who remember them. Doubting that they can scale to 64, 128 or 256 is not a good idea. Not to mention that the working relationship between the two, which was started during the mainframe days when they had to hook up EMC disk to McDATA directors. I've got to believe that McDATA knows as much as, or more than, EMC about making EMC disk perform in a networked storage environment.
