Interesting that GT is trading at a PE slightly above its peer group of BDG, CTP, and TWI, according to Multex. They expect profits to rebound this year, but the latest quarter's earning estimates have been revised downwards lately. Seems like a bottom should be around here somewhere, maybe after the earnings are released on Feb 9 and the bad news is factored in.

As to trading above book, it seems that inventories were high and they cut production to compensate. So if the book value was partially based on inventory, the latest quarter should show a marked reduction in inventory and book value, and thus book may not be a good current indicator.

Hard to say where the bottom will be (I'm not a prognosticator of exact tops and bottoms). It's completely possible that the stock could see the teens. However, I think the stock is at a good price now, so I'm starting to accumulate it.
