Hey Jetter:

I heard you knew the Alaska 261 MD83 pilot. Sorry. Weird thing - perfect weather, experienced pilot, excellent airline - not like a stabilizer ought to crash the plane. Big ouch.

I was on Alaska to San Diego the previous day. Kind of close to home for me too. The helicopters keep going up and down the coastline looking for debris. Must still be all underwater - perhaps the plane didn't break up.
