Scott:

Actually INTC's increased capital spending will have little impact on Cymer. Unlike everyone nearly other manufacturer out there (except IBM) Intel's current .18 micron process primarily relies on SVGI's Micrascan QML for its critical layers. The QML uses an Hg lamp, not a DUV laser as its light source. In addition (up until recently at least) they have been using Nikon I-line steppers for their non-critical layers. Recently Intel placed a large order with SVGI for their next generation scanners which will use a 193nm laser light source. This, however, won't begin to be delivered until the end of the year and even then there is no assurance that CYMI's light source will be used.
