Eric: Thanks. As you know I am a two handed guy (On the one hand.....and on the other hand....). Perhaps that is the economic training I had long ago, most of which I have (thankfully) forgotten.

But that is perhaps why I used to end each post here with:

Qualcomm and Nokia. Together the world.

Never saw a zero sum game as far as Nokia and Qualcomm are concerned, nor as far as GSM and CDMA are concerned.

Plenty of room for both and for major meaningful growth in both - i.e. opportunities for both.

That is why I keep suggesting on this thread that Nokia could be in a particularly powerful position as a supplier for all repeat all major wireless technologies if CDMA were taken seriously - a full court press - by Nokia. The opportunity is there. Why not take it?

Does Nokia wish to be outflanked by the Koreans and Japanese in China re CDMA - small market though it is near term? Why?

Now that Ericsson and Qualcomm are working together on an initiative for combining cellular wireless and bluetooth - looking at handhelds and the internet, why couldn't Nokia and the Q work together on ????? (fill in the blank). Why not?

What would be more natural than a GSM /CDMA device which either combined both side by side or merged them in some way?

Best.
