To all,
What happens if the US does retire much if not all of its debt over the next ten years? Seems like that is an awful lot of M1 going into circulation. If its too stimulative can the fed fight it if benchmark interest rates on US issue no longer exist? The discount rate and fed funds won't mean much by then as non banks take over lending functions from banks. Will the fed be dead? Controlling rates on US issues has been the key tool of the fed since its inception. Interested in the ideas of all. Thinking dividend instruments may be a great buy.
