Boundless intellectual capacity? I appreciate that, thanks.

Now, here's your second lesson of today. You say, "penny" stocks of the NASDAQ. Hmmm. Well, if you mean NASDAQ Small Caps, they can be traded via the 9 ECN's I previously mentioned, just like NASDAQ National Market issues can. Nothing new or different about that.

On the other hand, if you mean Over-The-Counter Bulletin Board stocks, they are absolutely not NASDAQ stocks - they have not met any listing requirements and only trade on the bulletin board facility. It's ok, that's a common mistake.

Currently there are two systems which function like or as ECN's for OTCBB and pink sheet stocks. I say like, because they are technically ATS's: Alternative Trading Systems which, like OptiMark, ITG, MarketXT and others, are alternate avenues of trade execution but do not fall within 17a-23, and are therefore are not Electronic Communications Networks.

One is called SBX. The other, slated to get up and running in a few months, is called GlobeNet. GlobeNet, incidentally, was founded and is run by a group of former market makers and NASD officials.
