"cree will bring in a major partner or licensee which in my mind will signal the start of the tornado and alleviate
the capacity issue at the same time."

I am in 100% agreement with this statement. In many ways I would be more encouraged by CREE bringing in partners/licensees than I would be CREE attempting to create enough product on their own. I think we are in agreement and only going around the bush in a classical who is first.. 'chicken' vs. 'egg' scenario. Shall we just settle by saying that..

a) CREE is not in any tornados yet except for the LED market which they accomplished without a partner but through internal capacity.
b) Additional SiC/CREE tornados are not present yet but are very close to occurring (e.g. power switches, circuits, blue laser etc..).
c) We both agree that we would be greatly encouraged that these additional tornados would/could be marked by a significant event such as CREE signing on with partners and/or licensing their production techniques with other companies.

I believe the only 'issue' is if CREE can trigger an additional tornado/new market acceptance through internal resources - i.e. increasing internal capacity and producing another product(s) internally without licensing/partnering with another company. I for one believe both are possible however I would be MOST encouraged by a partner(s)/licensee(s) signing on.
