(COMTEX)B: Printrak Announces Alliance With Compaq to Serve Global Public Safety and
Criminal Justice Markets; Agreement Includes Product Integration, Co-Marketing

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb 2, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Printrak International
Inc. (Nasdaq:AFIS) and Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ)
(www.compaq.com) Wednesday announced a technology and marketing
alliance to target public safety and criminal justice markets.

The broadly structured relationship calls for cooperation on multiple
levels, including cross-selling and co-marketing of products and
integration of Printrak's industry-leading enterprise software.

"Public safety systems represent a growth market opportunity," said Jim
Milton, vice president of sales and marketing, North America at Compaq.

"Printrak continues to demonstrate consistent leadership in this field
and we look forward to bringing solutions to market with them. This
market segment is fueled by technology initiatives at many levels of
government to upgrade existing systems, and we believe this market has
a strong upside potential."

Printrak and Compaq are currently working on multimillion-dollar public
safety systems opportunities in New York, Canada and South America,
according to Printrak CEO Richard Giles. "Printrak is the only company
to offer an enterprise-level solution, consisting of a full suite of
public safety and criminal justice applications," he said.

Giles also pointed to Compaq's global service and support organization
as another opportunity for synergy in market expansion and customer
satisfaction. "I am confident our two companies can more effectively
serve public safety needs by working together," he said.

Printrak is one of only a few Compaq customers that utilize the full
range of Compaq computers from fault-tolerant mainframe systems to
notebooks. Printrak's leading-edge computer aided dispatch (CAD)
systems for 9-1-1 emergency call centers currently standardize on
Compaq NonStop hardware.
