One problem with IBM, as pointed out by Sun after Sun's last quarter report, is that they are too scattered, or not concentrated in their server business. They have four platforms X about four OSes, although all OSes don't work on all servers. It seems like customers are preferring Sun for servers and EMC for storage right now. Then there's Dell or Compaq in PCs. IBM doesn't have any one thing in which they're really IT, except the mainframe, and who knows what its future is (I'd say not good).

Dear Gus,

Are you suggesting the SEG could be a possible take over target by EMC?
