Hi Jan. I think you are right - lots of short covering. I haven't been following AMZN much - just saw a TA opportunity and grabbed it. Hard to understand why there is so much shorting - the Ta showed AMZN was extremely oversold short term and sitting on a long term support level. I guess some people figured it would crash through that level. I bought some a few days ago and turned it on a bounce and then waited for the thing to settle. Maybe some had gotten into the habit of shorting Amazon before the earnings when it typically got hyped up. Expectations were different this time - deflated.

I sold out my position at 78 3/4. Its trading off now. I may pick it back up or just wait till the a.m. I'm thinking about shorting at the open and covering within a few minutes for a quickie. I'll have to judge just how well this news gets broadcast and is factored into the open.

I haven't seen this much action in Amazon for quite a while. These days I am more of a raider than investor - always looking for the next near certain opportunity.
