Steve, I think we may be on to something really BIG!! Considering the the 30 bond yield is dropping, I would not be surprised to see a big spillover into the stock market.

Consider it this way. What types of funds would short the bond market----YES---the same types that will short the stock market.

We could see one huge short squeeze in the stock market as a whole but especially the high PE stocks.
I would expect the Amazon and Yahoo types to skyrocket shortly even though I am not into the net stocks (at least this moment).
Similiarly, the JDSU types of stocks should continue their rise upward using the same logic.

In addition, look at the European cross border deal -Vodofone and Mannesman--sorry for the spelling. This signals the starting of big cross border deals in Europe. Free markets should be great for the wireless stocks like QCOM or NOKIA in addition to the NT and Lucents.
Of course, all of this is great for JDSU!!

BTW--It is possible that those short the 30 year bond may be long the stock market. However, given their high interest bond outlook, they would have been unlikely to be long the high PE stocks.
