It's a business, Richard. In a equity bull market ratings will remain high. Advertising Rates will sky rocket. What do you expect CNBC to do? Why should they hurt their bottom line?

Sure it's morally suspect. So what? Life is not moral. Never has been. Self-Interest is what moves most people, including the moral types. People basically do whatever they can get away with.

Government exists primarily to protect private property and money, fiat. I'm just restating what Locke says in the social contract.
