Sig, on a serious note, did you know that the very "first pc" manufacturer did sell their computer in kit form. The company's name was MITS. Did you ever hear of them? Very interesting story. In fact, Paul Allen and Bill Gates had their first programming job with MITS. The company was located in New Mexico.

Sig,

I think there is only one way that DELL the stock can get out of its doldrums. It needs to embrace the teachings of the new economy. It needs to turn in a loss instead of a profit. DELL should sell its computers and services 20% below the competition. That way they can resume revenue growth of 60-80% per year. Then only foolish companies would buy from HWP, CPQ or IBM Wall Street and the marketmakers would be singing DELL's praises and all the negative DELL talk we have now on this thread would be dispelled.

DELL should do another public offering to finance its expansion in the PC industry. It could raise another 10 B in capital.

Food for thought....
