Hi Chuzz:
Here are some of my impressions of the market today
1. Still a vast liquidity in the market(useful for buying techs)
2. NAS continues taking over from Dow since techs have demonstrated ability to grow and earn money
3. That recent tanking was a planned head fake to take out stops and over-margined accounts by exaggerating fear of Feds and interest
rates. I seldom use stops but did on 5 stocks that day but did not get taken out. Thats when I keep Gregs advice in mind, to buy when
blood is running in streets so I even managed to buy some.
4. I asked Donnie about the Bvsn with the result I kept it and its
up maybe $30 since then
5. I remember Lees comments on Sdli some time ago so kept most of that too and its up around $100 since then.
6. I heed your advice on diversification and have gone from 97% Dell to 20%. It kind of happens automatically without much thought,
if I stop buying Dell when its flat and invest in stocks performing better. So it happens over a period of months and is not a one day thing.
Am placing no ST bets on Dell at this time- bought HD 2002 leaps
maybe some Dell 2002 leaps and my first ever WMT stock today.
We may get only a few bucks run-up to Dell earnings because of
all the uncertainty. But would expect a major move in Dell sometime
this year of around 40 to 50%. Problem is that % may not be good enough if the techs keep on rolling, despite the fact it would exceed that of many Dow stocks. Depends on how the institutions value
the stock- it looks good LT to me but has everyone ( except Warren B.) started thinking short term gains?
Dell still the best thread- many great ideas around here we can all use - some day I will even learn to sell calls(G)
Kinda wordy Sig
