Dorothy.. have to type this quickly, excuse errors.

Options ie. put/call ratios are highly variable because many institutional traders write calls and puts against their holdings. Generally this fact makes the contrary argument true.

Then again, if there is a new perception of direction in a stock puts or calls will suddenly change and they will not be contrary. Very large sudden call volume will signal an up move or vice versa.

There must be an easy option saying in all this.. something like:

With trend contrary is friend
With news get out of cruise
