Anybody know when the effective date of the split is? It is supposed to be approved at the next shareholder meeting, when will that be?

:o)

Ken, Interesting story of a Global Index being worked out by the NYSE---sort of an international DOW.

Just heard CNBC (Bob Pissani)mention that an announcement should come Monday out of the NYSE.

It could be a big deal for Nortel!! It would surely get into this index considering that global representation is being sought. You can bet global stocks like NT or Nokia are going to make the list of the top global 100.

If this new index gains popularity (i think it will), NT shares should benefit.

It is about time we get a blue chip global index!!

BTW---i am assuming NT is going to be a part of this index. I don't see how it could be left out. Let's wait and see---on Monday we will know.
