The market is making all time history, that is what is going on. This is a once in a lifetime event, and will end very badly for the entire world economy. It is interesting to watch, but is very sad.

It seems the spinsters have convinced just about everybody (except this thread <g>) that everything is fine; no inflation, world peace, full employment, technological nirvana, economic expansion without end, etc. This mantra has also been exported to other countries. Here in Canada, investors tend to be verrrry cautious. Watching stocks move was like watching grass grow. Lately the TSE has been moving like the NASDAQ. My broker, who has mostly old and conservative investors, told me yesterday that most of his customers are taking their money out of the conservative dividend-yielding stocks to buy the momo tech stocks. They heard their friends were doubling and tripling their money in a matter of weeks, while they had to wait patiently to make a mere 6-10% a year. Some were even angry that the broker did not suggest they invest in these momo stocks earlier!
Looks like all the money will have to sucked in before the pyramid crumbles. Sure would like to know when that moment arrives.....

>>Elizabeth MacKay, chief investment strategist at Bear Stearns, agreed. She told CNNfn's market coverage technology issues are less impaired by the rising interest rates<<

Say what -- I thought technology was capital intensive -- what about all that R&D?

Wayne:

As Dr. Ed Yardeni said it will be interesting to watch the battle between the bond vigilantes and the new era techies and silicon valley capitalists.

Looks like the bond vigilantes are getting thrashed for now.
