That's why I said in most cases.

Advanced Server will support 8 processors if upgraded from an 8 way MP WinNT Enterprise Edition server. As a fresh install it will only support 4. If this has changed and you know otherwise for definite, please correct me.

And I believe that both Solaris x86 UNIX and SCO UNIX run very well on this platform and support 8 way. I don't think Linux does yet. I think it stops at 4 way.
