csm: Stuart, in the untutored minds of the masses, the IPO of AV might be seen as a positive for COMPAQ and you might get a 1/2 to full point sympathy rise for one day. But the market will give no value to the share of a computer maker for its passive shareholdings in other companies, especially if those holdings cannot be sold and turned to cash due to lock up restrictions arising from the IPO. The market has given no value to COMPAQ for the much larger nominal value of the CMGI holdings.
