Dear johnd:

Reading between the lines of Bill's speeches and MSFT releases regarding WIN2000, you must know softee would like nothing better than to have this product released without the SPECTRE OF THE doj...

You've just spent 3 years and 8 BILLION BUCKS on your new bouncing
pride and joy. And the bully in the playground is ready to ...
suffocate, squash, destroy ... who knows what

You must feel the momentum shifting toward softee in the case, as supporting friend of the court briefs from former AG's, Lessig's wishy/washy advice to Jackson, Class Action against AOL, etc all seem to be going our way... If a compromise could be found where softee eats some crow, and the doj and Jackson could spin a victory of sorts, I think Bill would settle, and prefer to settle TODAY!
