I too could not resist a short while ago and dipped a tiny toe into the Intel put pond. Glad it was tiny. I'll post (or ensure that the story gets to main line print) if we can fill in the missing pieces with some solid proof.

This market is at an extremely dangerous stage. There is plenty of nasty news around, the pros are oriented to moving as much as possible to cash (but also trying to make sure they own the latest "fashion" stocks). Meantime, the public just keeps on borrowing more bucks and throwing it into stocks, irrespective of the news. The bears keep getting whacked, but they also watch a huge IPO program sponge up the excess cash.

I will still look for guidance from the bond pits. The Europeans jabbed Alan with a matching rate increase (the differential therefore remains distorted and keeps the pressure on the Fed to raise some more). This stock market can ignore the rising rates only for so long.
