Ali, From the Implats 1999 annual report: "Rhodium- increased purchases by automakers fuelled the recovery of the rhodium price... Rhodium is the metal of choice for nitrous oxide reduction and the increased emphasis on this aspect of clean air in both Europe and the USA will ensure continued usage of rhodium in the medium term." Palladium is the main metal used in the catalytic converter, but there is also a smaller amount of rhodium used to get rid of the nitrous oxide. Bruce
