I'll take a stab at this Q. You appear to know QLT well.

QLT DMX
------------ -----------------
Biotech wave yes yes
TSE 100 yes no
Market Darling yes not yet but on its way
(ie check out QLT's website for their impressive list of
analysts.)
Institutional yes not sure how many
FDA Approval yes soon
Cash LOTS $10+mm
($90mm?)
Shares O/S 65mm 41mm
Directors stable ('90) most appointed recently ('98)
Business stable since changed several times
inception since '83
- Both affect 'quality of life' not
cure for life threatening disease
Drug -Cures a type -Transadermal delivery system
of blindness -WF10 - macrophage ? enhancer
-Photo activated drug

Trading History 10 year+ since '97
Major base
$10-18 for years
Started move Jan'99

I'm sure I missed some points, but that's all I can comeup with in 3 minutes.

PS Got to love DMX's chart!
All technicals - buy signals
Get this, stoch and slow stoch not even
'over bought' yet!
Even if it was, I hope it gets plastered to the
ceiling for as long as possible.

My gut feel regarding latest pop, is not due to JNJ,FDA or
other approvals. Not yet, next. I'm guessing it has to do
with NASDAQ listing, some brokerage(s) may benefit.
Also, Institutions may be getting in / positioning.

Also, 22 Thomson Kernaghan no long major seller. Today they were #2 net buyer.
