I don't think upgradability is a priority for sub-$500 PCs. Timna will be going into slim-line PCs, "legacy-free" PCs, and the iMac knock-offs.

I guess that means Pentium III will be driven down to the $500-$1500 range, and Willamette (Pentium IV?) will take the rest of the desktops above $1500 (at least by the end of 2001). This assumes, of course, that Celeron as we know it (you know, the non-Timna Celeron) will die off.
