I remember watching a PBS show a few years back about data archiving at the Library of Congress. I only retain about 2% of what I watch and what I retained was that the electronic data archiving format *changes every 4 years or something, so that half of the working life of an archivist is spent converting data from the old format to the new.

I want my money with whichever company delivers the reliable branded standard storage monthly BILLING. :)

Aside (re: quantum storage): Can you imagine the expense of having to convert all of your digital data from 'binary' to 'trinary'? -- Doh! :)
