If a settlement were to happen I think there is high chance
of it happening next week, just prior to the windows2000
launch. Wll street already knows this and I think the stock
is moving up today possibly because some of that reason.

Between the chance for a settlement and the jump related to
windows2000 launch, I see the stock headed higher to 115-120
in the short term.

I had said it will hit mid to low 90s and I was lucky to see
it did get to 95 but it didn't stay there and started
heading higher. I think it is anciticpation of settlement
and windows2000 release.

A settlement would move msft up and competitors - SUNW, AOL
etc.. down.

Reasons to Own and Buy More Shares in Microsoft

<<Why I still own MicroSoft....

1- Very undervalued stock, taken down by the DOJ for over 1 year....

2- Very profitable company, sitting on $ 39 or so billion dollars cash and investments.

3- Very nice Internet properties, comin into their own.

4- The PC is not dead, as a large majority of the world's population does not have
one. And MSFT gets a nice cut from every sale

5- Linux on the desktop is a joke. A bad one.

6- DCOM/COM+ is a very sharp architecture for web commerce content delivery
and programming. Corba/EJB is still very immature...

7- The "2000" series of products is making me foam at the mouth, from SQL/Server ,
MSMQ, Exchange 2000 and of course, Windows 2000.

A brand new upgrade cycle is starting, with Y2K out of the way....

8 - Windows 2000 consumer edition late this year, hopefully in time for Xmas...

So even though, boys and girls, it has been a very bad year for Mr Softy (1999, and
2000), anybody crazy enough NOT to be owning this stock by Feb 17th is out of
his/her mind !

And I also own . BTW, a ton of Sun Microsystems stock and LEAPS... One should
own both, IM<<

Jean Excellent post and it is one that cannot be topped

Best Wishes
Frank
