I agree with much of what you said but not on this point. I have been using both the server and workstation versions of Win2K for almost a year and am now running RC3 (which is the production code)... the performance on most things is substantially better, some things are 40% to 50% faster, and in areas where better large addressing makes a difference, performance is about double... I have not found anything which is slower... and the system is much more reliable than NT4, and requires almost no shutdowns for routine configuration changes. So on the performance score I beg to differ... Win2K is faster than NT4.
