They are paid by talking about the sexiest stories they can come up with. Which is why you won't hear anything about utilities unless it is Enron and it involves fiberoptics. I don't blame them. It's to a great degree the audience's fault.

I just wish Bloomberg were better. Love to see a financial channel with a ticker and some real indepth analysis of these companies BEFORE the price movement or the blowout story. CNBC is a lagging indicator.

Much to my dismay CNBC had nothing that I saw about Kenneth Cole's stock performance yesterday while focusing about other clothing retailers. Sometimes they just miss a sexy story I guess.
