Actually, that's an interesting point, because there are serious forces afoot to prevent that. Washington, for example, has tried to ban cross-burning even on private property. Jurisdictions have tried to ban wearing white hoods during public demonstrations.

BTW, I hope you also extend what you say to my right as a private citizen to wave anything on public property when I am exercising my right to peaceably assemble and petition for redress of grievances. The First Amendment isn't limited to rights on private property. Tinker again.
